So I was asked why I didn’t post a song along with my Carrot Pesto post and honestly, I must have just forgotten to post it. It’s pretty easy to remember what I was listening to when I made it because I’ve been listening to the same song over and over for the past few days. My good friend and fellow EMU theatre alum Boy Friday sent over this track by Mayor Hawthorne. He described it as sounding like “A summer drive in Detroit” and I am inclined to agree. Someone grab me a jar because this shit is my jam right now.

A Rainbow of Carrots (And a Carrot Top Pesto Recipie)
I do love springtime in Michigan. It’s a time when the second largest exporter (under California) of produce starts to wake and all the goodies and treats start becoming available. This morning, one of my urban farmer friends from ACRE Detroit posted on his Facebook that the first batch of rainbow carrots were ready for harvesting and I jumped on the opportunity to get my hands on some.
He even delivered it to my door. Such a nice guy!
Le Baguette (Pan)
A baguette pan is a lightweight, perforated pan that looks more like something Lady Gaga would wear to a parent/teacher conference than an instrument of deliciousness. They’re not that expensive, until you realize they only serve one purpose… but then when you remember the purpose they serve, you realize they’re not that expensive.
I have been baking a lot of bread lately. They make thoughtful gifts for friends and also with summer fast approaching (high 70′s today in Detroit!) I’ve come to realize it’s much easier to stuff your friend with carbs and make them all fat rather then work my ass off at the gym.
